The New York Sewing Center is a spotless and highly professional space. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and always ready to assist. I had the pleasure of taking a private lesson with Marcel, and he was outstanding. The lesson was tailored specifically to my project and goals, making it a truly personalized experience. I highly recommend the New York Sewing Center to anyone in need of sewing equipment, a clean and spacious studio, private lessons, or group classes. Its location is incredibly convenient, with some of the best fabric and notion stores just steps away!
I had a cool experience here. However, I wish the structure of the classes had been different. They use commercial patterns, so if you're looking to learn sewing and already have your own sewing machine, I honestly wouldn't recommend paying for the course. I signed up for a 4-class package that included Copy Your Pattern, Jeans Class, and two others. Out of the four classes, I was only able to finish one piece and it’s still not fully completed. I wish they could better manage the class time and provide clearer recommendations on the steps you need to follow to leave with your garment ready. Now, I’m in another country with three unfinished fabrics, which is a bit frustrating. Hopefully, they can improve this aspect for future students.
I took a multi-week beginner class at NYSC and it was a great experience! It was an easy location for me to get to. The instructor was clear and supportive with answering any questions and giving one on one help. I would recommend NYSC if you're interested in learning how to sew! I actually asked for a sewing machine for Christmas, and I am excited to continue learning!
I love the New York Sewing Center. I take private lessons with Emily and she is everything that I need in a Teacher. Extremely patient, thorough, kind, an absolute gem. The Manager Chloe is gracious and excellent at helping me to schedule. She is always there to answer any questions that I might have. I highly recommend studying here or even just taking a class. Enjoy!
BEST PLACE EVER! I have done classes and private lessons with The New York Sewing Center and they are the best. The teaching is wonderful - helpful, insightful, patient and kind. No question was too silly! I have had a variety of instructors and they are all fabulous!
